#CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT THESE TWO FOR A MINUTE #AND WHAT A GREAT EXAMPLE OF EVIL MARRIEDS THEY ARE #can we do that? #mostly because I’ve seen posts here saying how Datak is the abusive one and Stahma is the submissive one and how this is all terrible #and let me say this - WRONG#whatever they are - troubled or morally grey or just straight up evil - they’re BOTH the same #sure Stahma is the more intelligent one and she simply enjoys manipulation and she’s naturally cunning #while Datak has been presented as the one with a temper who’s driven by years-long passions and quarrels #but their personalities makes them deadly dangerous because they know how to COOPERATE #and sure Stahma manipulates her husband! #BECAUSE SHE CAN and because she LIKES TO #but not because she HAS TO do it in order to have a voice in this relationship #because Datak knows her and recognizes the ways in which she operates #and he ADMIRES them #in every moment they shared we’ve seen him appreciating her mind and her ideas and not once claiming them as his own #she’s not afraid - when she prefers it to speak bluntly - to call his bluff #they both know what the other one is capable of and in which fields the other one is better #the recognition of the other one’s flaws and talents is what makes them superior to the others#because once they’ve learned where their strenghts lie #because once they’ve learned where their strenghts lie - in that moment they became the force to reckon with #they’re both dangerous because they know what they want (and it’s the SAME) they’re just using different tools to get it
O.o I’ve never read Stahma’s relationship to Datak as “submissive.” Yes he is, in many ways the “muscle” in the relationship but basically ^^^ those tags. Datak knows damn well his wife is the smarter and more cunning of the two and he CLEARLY appreciates that, even if in his flashes of temper he gets a bit cranky I NEVER got the impression that she HAD to handle him in order to protect herself like, at ALL. Personally I love how they are setting up this relationship.
Is it really fair to consider them evil or villainous in nature? Sure they are manipulative and definitely use people’s failings to their advantage but that is how their species operates. It may be by our standards villainous but to the Castithans it is how they survive. Not to promote moral relativism either, but I rather enjoy their power dynamic in this marriage.
They both are also above prejudice when it suits their own ends. Showing that they don’t let bigotry interfere with increasing pursuit of power. In a world where people let bigotry interfere with progress, it’s nice to see liberal manipulation. If that makes sense.

Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles
and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on
driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the
rubbish, but you’ll never make it!!!
If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in
about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with
enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is
boiling hot as well.
Don’t pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the
gutter, etc.
Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little
water. A small piece of foil.
Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.
Please ensure that everyone that may not have email access are also informed
